UPDATE:
As of 22 May, the workers have suspended their strike and self-dispersed after the Coca-Cola Management (Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc.) and the Workers Union reached a settlement that would address their well-deserved demands, as follows:
Within 3 months, they will be recognized as REGULAR workers by CCBPI;
They will receive a Php 24,000 signing bonus; and
They will be paid for the three days they’re on strike.
Despite these initial gains, the workers and their supporters led by labor center, PAMANTIK-KMU still appeal for continued support and vigilance until they can fully avail of what they deserved in the first place.
Long Live the Working Class!

Hundreds of workers, mainly drivers, haulers, fork lift operators and pickers joined the STRIKE due to UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES, UNION-BUSTING and HARASSMENT among other anti-labor actions of Coca-Cola. This is even complicated further by a possible collusion of the management and DOLE officials in Manila for intervening in an earlier decision of DOLE Region 4-A favoring the demands of the workers. Read on the details of the strike, HERE (Filipino version) or HERE (English version).
As of late, an impending dispersal is imminent after the Coca-Cola management sought a Temporary Restraining Order from a local court and enjoining police to disperse the picket line. The strike has successfully paralyzed operations when workers blocked the gates of Coke’s premier bottling plant.
“To everyone who patronizes Coca Cola products, please remember the workers who toil day and night, put out their sweat and blood to deliver these products. As you drink each glass of Coke and quench your thirst, please remember those who thirst for their rights, those who thirst for justice—the workers who thirst for life.” -Union president, UMDFP-CCBPI-IND

COCA-COLA WORKERS ON STRIKE AT STA. ROSA PLANT
READ MORE.

Bakit mo iboboto si Teddy Casino?

RapplerDebate: Bakit mo iboboto si Teddy Casino?

Rep.

Let’s make him our Senator! Vote #6 TEDDY CASINO
